Consignment RV Dealers Allow Sellers to Avoid The Difficulty of Dealing With Strangers
February 29, 2012 4:17 pmI am a paranoid consumer. I don’t like to buy or sell to strangers. I know that consignment RV dealers sell RVs, but I simply don’t feel completely comfortable yet. I’m still considering which method is the best method to sell my RV.
There are basic selling methods that are available to every seller:
1. The recreational vehicle for sale by owner.
2. The recreational vehicle for sale on the consignment RV lot.
3. The recreational vehicle trade in for another vehicle.
In the midst of my research of various methods and opportunities that can help sell my RV, I found the obvious three options; none of which left me feeling very comfortable. Then I found a different type of RV consignment dealer. When you’re selling your RV you can attempt to advertise the sale and then handle the sale. This is called selling your recreational vehicle “by owner.” You can ask a professional salesman to handle your sale and allow them to take a percentage of the sale price. This is what would be called consignment. You can drive your vehicle to a new RV dealer’s lot and offer it in trade towards a newer, larger, more expensive vehicle.
The problem with all of the above options is that it left me dealing with strangers. It’s not that I dislike all strangers. It’s just that I dislike a lot of strangers and don’t feel the need to meet random people and allow them into my life simply because I want to sell my RV.
Most think these are the only three options, but as an extremely paranoid consumer, I dug a little deeper and I feel that I’ve discovered a fourth option. I found SellMyRVToday.com. Some would describe them as a consignment RV dealer, but I beg to differ.
It’s the only option I found that allowed me to avoid the necessity to interact with random strangers. All I had to do was call in and advise the company that I wanted to sell my recreational vehicle. They took the reins from there. I just waited for them to pick up my vehicle and deliver my certified funds. I didn’t officially “meet” any strangers. There were no stilted conversations and I don’t feel like random odd people now know where I live. My hermit lifestyle is still intact. To top it all off…it was fast. It was completely finished within days. It took the hassle (and the strangers) out of selling my RV.
