How to Sell My RV Without Spending a Pretty Penny
February 20, 2012 4:00 pmI’m looking for information on how to sell my RV and it seems that most advice revolves around spending money in order to attract buyers. That’s a bit of a problem for me since I’m only selling my RV to save the expense of storage, maintenance and upkeep. It’s an attempt to cut back on expenses. If I could afford to spend extra money, I would continue to indulge my love of recreational vehicles. Motorhomes are great. You just have to be able to afford to travel frequently and comfortably. It’s no fun if you are stressed out about the money being spent the entire time.
So don’t tell me that I can get more money for my RV sale if I fix all the tiny, cosmetic issues. Don’t suggest that I have a mechanic give it a once over so that I can have a trustworthy “no mechanical complications” claim and please avoid suggesting that I upgrade the appliances and reupholster. Are you kidding? If I could afford to do any of that, I would have done it when I was using it so I could be the one to enjoy it. Suddenly deciding to sell the RV doesn’t increase the amount of leisure money I have laying around.
There was one guy that I ran into at a sporting goods store that happened to wrestle me into a conversation and then provide me with a priceless piece of advice. This funny guy told me that if I wanted to sell my RV then I should simply tell someone who wants to buy RVs that I have one for sale. I laughed at the time, but once I started to think about it I decided he might be onto something…and what do you know? There is a company that is in business simply to purchase other people’s used recreational vehicles. I got in touch and told them I wanted to sell my RV and they bought it. The entire deal was completed and I had certified funds in my hand in only 3 days. It was SellMyRVToday.com.
I just wanted to write in and say thanks for being in the business of buying RVs. You’ve made the entire process so much more doable. I should also say thanks to the funny guy from the sporting goods store in the plaid pants and Lynard Skynard T-shirt. That sarcastic comment you made was actually a great idea.
