How to sell my RV is a question asked by most everyone who has, for one reason or another, had to sell their recreational vehicle. There are numerous ways that the person who is uttering the quandary “how to sell my RV” can do it. Here are a few proven methods (not necessarily effective) of handling RV sales.
Place an ad in the newspaper — There have actually been motorhomes that have sold due to an ad in the newspaper. Herein lies the problem though: You have to pay for every day that the ad is published, so you have to take a good guess at when the right potential buyer will be reading it. There may be many callers curious about your RV, or there may be none whatsoever. It is a crapshoot, and hopefully you won’t go broke keeping your motorhome in the newspaper for too long. Oh, and then not knowing who you are selling it to comes along with its set of challenges as well. Might be a good idea to collect cash!
Place an ad on the Internet — This may be a bit more effective than the newspaper, but you are still dealing with a lot of people that have no intention of buying your RV; they just want to look at it. Once someone who is interested comes along, you once again need to take great care to make sure that they are capable of paying for it, and that they do not take possession of it until all your ducks are in a row with them financially.
Post a bulletin on local sales boards at shops, motorhome parks, etc. — This method may be effective if you know of a club or institution comprised of people looking to buy RVs. Otherwise, you might as well stick to the newspaper.
Park your RV on the corner with a sign in the window — No doubt, there have been RVs sold because of high visibility on a corner somewhere. However, it would stand to reason that there have been more RVs with windows broken, parts stolen, tires flattened and graffiti painted on them as well. Many times it is by the angry landowner, whose property your RV is parked on.
Sell it to a family member — Many of us know better than this. Selling an RV to someone in your family is like lending it to them! They will not only expect a “blood is thicker than water” discount, but any problems surfacing in the future with the vehicle will still be your problems.
Call Sellmyrvtoday.com — This is the kind of transaction that involves you calling Sellmyrvtoday and telling them what you have to sell. They work up a very market friendly price, and bring a check to your doorstep. They then drive it away, and you never hear about it again. For those who like stress and hassles, this is probably not the way to go. However, if you like transactions to be immediate and easy, this would be the best selection for you as you ask “how to sell my RV.”
