I Want to Sell My RV for Free Without Exorbitant Consignment Fees
May 18, 2012 12:00 pmWhen I’m ready to sell something, I want to sell it for free. I purchased the item with my own money. I’ve maintained it with my own money. And I feel that any money that is obtained from the sale of the object should be all mine. That goes double for my recreational vehicle. I want to sell my RV for free and I can’t be talked out of it. I don’t want to have anything to do with the exorbitant consignment fees that seem to be the norm on some of the RV lots here in my area.
I’m not a cheapskate. I tip my waiters and waitresses well. I understand that people should be well paid for their services. I just can’t abide by the consignment fees specifically. I’d rather sell it on my own and keep the cash. Having said that, I hate working with strangers. It’s a contradiction, I know, but somehow I’ve learned to accept this about myself.
Therefore, when it came time for me to sell my recreational vehicle, I had a decision on my hands. I could sell it by owner and deal with the massive annoyances of unscreened buyers. I could swallow my irritation and let it sit on a consignment lot until it sold, and pay the dreaded consignment fees, or I could figure out some other way to sell the RV.
I decided to make it as hard as possible and find another way, even though I didn’t know of one when the search began. What I found surprised me. There are actually professional RV buyers out there. From what I understand, these professional buyers are simply sitting around waiting to buy RVs. It was the perfect solution.
I called SellMyRVToday.com. They advertised “instant cash for your RV” and it sounded like I could sell my RV for free, so I jumped into the process headfirst. I was prepared for a few annoying details to pop up, but nothing did. I made the initial arrangements and we agreed on a price. They handled the title work and the niggling bank payoff that had been on the back of my mind for months, and then picked up the vehicle. I was left with certified funds for my vehicle 3 days after I called them.
I feel like I won. Am I allowed to say that? I’m not sure, but I’m going to say it anyway. I know the consignment lots in my area weren’t really competing against me, but it still feels good to know that I figured out a way around paying their high rates for help in selling my RV. Thanks SellMyRVToday.com!
