I swear the majority of people stuck on consignment RV sales are just connecting it to their local consignment shop. They’ve purchased a couch they love or found some unique chairs or even valuable earrings in the midst of the shop, and it’s left them feeling warm and fuzzy about consignment in general. They simply aren’t stepping back to consider that they aren’t buying anymore; they are on the selling end. In most cases, they are also forgetting that they aren’t talking about a fabulous pair of vintage heels anymore. When the conversation turns to recreational vehicles, the conversation has turned to a major purchase. And a major purchase requires a different mind set than your typical accessory discovered amongst the other treasures in the consignment store down on the corner. This accounts for the unfounded love used as a basis for their decision to sell through a consignment RV lot, but there are those with no previous experience with consignment who are still drawn to the lots. Those of us in the industry often wonder what the pull is. To put it simply, consignment RV sales are rarely a good deal for sellers.
